Ugh brain slippage

As part of my Friends world education I am required for most classes to write weekly responses. While in theory this sounds like a good idea, most of the time it is not. This idea does not give us a chance to interact with text or what was said it class. Most of the time the responses my fellow students go something like this

visiting the Cartoon museum was awesome. I thought it was amazing, I want to go again. Cartoons 4ever.

Ok ok they aren't that horrible, but you get the general idea. Very basic responses. I am much more textual and tradtionally based. I want to write responses to three or four classes, citing texts, citing classroom activities and field trips. So I do, and get chided for not writing high school journal essays.
Ahhhhh....
Because I do not get graded just evaluationed I am sure my professor will comment on the fact that I can not follow directions, but dammit I think its stupid! If he wanted to know if I was there he could've taken attendance. My advisor backs me up and writing academic papers for class instead of journal entries and we both think that it will be a greater benefit in the long run.
I will stay strong in my conviction...

Maybe not.....

So for the past two hours I have been writing small entries about each class for my final portfolio. So much for staying strong.. I am now doubling the work I have to do, and getting the same non-grade...
Whats a girl to do?
