poetic randomness

I have learned some amazing things in my short life, some important, most of them not. Here is one that isnt:
If you cant sleep Norman Mailer is not the author to turn to.
Now for the teenage augsty part of the blog- my newest poem

Just so you know.. every stanza represents a female poet I admire

If I………………………………
If I were to write poetry
would it be taken seriously
or would I fall in to that beautiful suicidal women trap?
So tragic, only famous after death
The mourners would whisper that the knew me when

If I were to write poetry would the ink dry on my hands
like blood, stain my sheets or run though my body like blood of life itself?

If I were to write poetry would I write fast and furious on paper napkins, or on the back of cardboard boxes, mind racing so quickly that my pen could not catch up

If I were to write poetry would it be of a political bent, whereas everyone would know my opinions, or would be personal so everyone would know my heart?

If I were to write poetry who would read it?
Besides the ever present college english professor and students in poetry cafes?
Would I appeal to the masses?
Would they check out my book at the library?
Would I uncover an universal truth that has yet to be untold?

If I were to write poetry
Could I use whatever punctuation and spelling I wanted?
Free as a bird?Or do I just not know that cage is there?

If I were to write poetry
Would that be all that mattered?
