Most of you know that I read- I read like obese people eat at the Golden Corral. With gusto and non discrimatory. I read more in three months that most people will in their life. I have read many books this semester, A lesson before dying, House of Spirits, Like Water for chocolate, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Japanese Psyche, Four Seasons of Bento Blackbird, and two that I am working on now- Autobiography of the Dali Lama and Atlas Shrugged. This is an interesting pair. Ayn Rand has long been one of my favorite authors, she was the one who started my love affair for Russian women writers. Her philosophy is Objectivism. Among many ideals she rejects the belief in the supernatural or religion as a basis for reality. She believes that humans are fully confident in knowing the facts of reality. Our power to reason is enough.
Next time- About the Dali Lama, but for now I have to join the hordes of Japanese shoppers to buy christmas presents.
