ahhh
I awoke at 5:30 am. Partly due to jet lag, the other part from anxiety residue from sleeping in a pubic place for the past couple of days. I still have not received my bags. I received a call from Barbara that the airline is going to deliver them to me tomorrow, but one of my bags is damaged. I have to fill out forms, but the damage will be replaced. This is the second time Ive had to replace my luggage after an international flight. The airline is offering me $75 to buy clothes and what not for the next couple of days. It is hard to spend money on things I don’t need. Right now I need clothes, but I won’t in a couple of days. I have been walking around since non stop for about 10 hours. At first I was just going to go to the store for a snack. I got lost and walked around for awhile.( I got lost when I first moved to Boise, so I wasn’t deterred) Around 12ish I ran in to Kyle, the other FWer that is staying in the apartments. We deceided to do some local sightseeing. We went to the Golden Pavilion. It is peaceful there. There was lots of people because it was a Saturday afternoon, but even with the crowd it didn’t take much away from the over all atmosphere. I was impressed, but not connected. As any traveler knows there are places in this world where you just feel something. For some it is the sound of tiny bones crunching underfoot at Auschwitz, others it is the sheer beauty of an Italian catholic church, for others it is the cheerful sounds of a pub in Ireland. I know I will find that place in Japan I just have to look for it.
